Our first factory was born in the former headquarters of Manteigaria União, the cooperative that sold butter to the city of Lisbon. As it is one of the essential ingredients of the Pastel de Nata, we maintained this connection in the name.
Located near Largo de Camões, on the border between Bairro Alto and Chiado, in Lisbon, this shop preserves the identity of the original space, from the Art Nouveau façade to the name above the door.
We prefer to keep what is good rather than change everything just to be different.
Our shops have been renovated to preserve the legacy and heritage of each location.
That’s why they are not all the same: we respect and preserve the spaces where we are, we are part of the neighborhoods that welcome us. We are the Pastel de Nata for those who live next door and for those who come from afar. We are the sweet scent of the streets where we live.
We make Pastel de Nata in full view of everyone, in real time. From the crispy puff pastry to the velvety cream, everything happens before the eyes of those who visit us.
See the artisanal production process from the other side of the glass, where the master pastry chefs are in full activity on the Estremoz marble workbenches. From the dough to the mold, from the filling to the oven.
Each batch is signaled by the ringing of the bell, to let passersby know. At the counter, the service is always friendly, with a close and welcoming approach so that you always come back, and with more people.
The secret? It’s not us. It’s you. We’re waiting for you.
