Manteigaria between History and Modernity

Belém is one of the most prestigious areas of Lisbon. It’s where the President of the Republic lives, where the city’s iconic tower is located, and where the Discoveries are celebrated in one of Portugal’s most famous monuments.

Stock up before setting off to discover the history, arts and architecture of the area; there’s always a fresh batch of Pastéis de Nata coming out of the two Manteigaria factories in Belém.

I tried the famous pastéis de nata here and they were delicious! The crispy pastry, the melting cream, and the perfect amount of sweetness... pure happiness! This is by far the best pastel de nata in town! The texture is 10/10, a perfect balance between the crispy crust and the creamy filling. The sweetness level is just right, not too sweet. The overall flavor is simply the best. To top it off, I ordered a cappuccino that was incredible; few people get a coffee right. Would I come back? Absolutely! I don't eat any other pastéis de nata besides this one.

The pastéis de nata from Manteigaria in Belém are delicious and excellent. The flavor is rich with just the right amount of sweetness. The texture is perfect; the custard is smooth and velvety, contrasting with the puff pastry, which is crisp and crunchy. I highly recommend them.

A perfect experience at Manteigaria – Pastéis de Nata’s Factory. The pleasure begins as soon as you enter: you see the pastry chefs preparing the pastéis de nata right before your eyes. A true gourmet spectacle! The staff are friendly, efficient, and everything is impeccably cared for. The pastéis are simply divine: crispy, melt-in-your-mouth, and fragrant... we ordered more because they were so good. All accompanied by a ginja (cherry liqueur), a glass of Port wine, and two coffees: a perfect moment in Lisbon, unmissable.
