What an amazing place - exceptional pastéis de nata (still warm), delicious coffee and super friendly staff. Eating outdoors is also a delight, as the shop is located on a spacious Lisbon/Saldanha sidewalk, surrounded by impressive architecture.

The pastéis de nata made here are absolutely delicious. You can watch them being made, and then do yourself a favor and buy some to eat right there. The pastry is crispy and flaky, and the custard is warm and delicious.

I wasn't a fan of pastéis de nata, but the ones from Manteigaria opened my palate to this typical Portuguese pastry. The filling melts in your mouth, very flavorful and creamy. The crust is crispy and thin. A real treat.

Although I haven't had the opportunity to try many of Lisbon's most acclaimed pastéis de nata, it's hard to imagine any more exquisite than those at Manteigaria. From the delicate puff pastry to the melt-in-your-mouth cream filling, sweet but not too sweet, it was a pleasure to savor this brilliant example of the beloved Portuguese pastel de nata. Furthermore, the staff at this particular establishment couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
