Ooh la la, c’est le Pastel de Nata!

The new Parisian classic.

Paris has many flavors, and those of Portugal are among the most sought after by Parisians and others alike. An authentic Pastel de Nata tastes like home, wherever that home may be. The City of Lights now has a sweeter aroma, born from the batches that captivate everyone who passes by Rua de Rambuteau.

Come on, the most authentic Portuguese pastel de nata is also in Paris.

It was partly out of curiosity, partly out of a sweet tooth, that I entered Manteigaria, a shop that originated in Portugal and is now based in Paris. Here, there's no extensive menu or overflowing display case: they sell only one thing, but they sell it perfectly: pastéis de nata. The first bite is a guaranteed journey: the thin, crispy puff pastry, the warm, slightly sweet custard, and the touch of cinnamon sprinkled on top just before eating. The welcoming and cheerful staff makes the visit even more enjoyable.

From the heart of Portugal and brought directly to one of the most interesting areas of Paris, we have Manteigaria, a slice of pure joy. These pastéis de nata are served fresh from the oven, with a delicious crust on the outside and a filling so creamy it melts in your mouth.

Discovered by chance while passing through, I think I ate one of the best cakes I've ever tasted, with that warm vanilla and cinnamon cream that explodes in your mouth! Unmissable!

I saw the great reviews and decided to try it. It was the first time I'd ever eaten pastel de nata and now I'm a fan. The custard was smooth and slightly sweet. The pastry was soft and flaky. I ate two and highly recommend you try them.
