The Pastel de Nata in Bordeaux

Some cities know how to make time for life’s simple pleasures. And on Rue Sainte-Catherine, time stands still with the very first bite of a Pastel de Nata.

Bordeaux knows how to appreciate life’s simple pleasures: a coffee between daily commitments, a conversation so enjoyable it naturally lingers, a glass of wine to celebrate the moment. Here, old and new come together to savour the present with pleasure.

Visitors to Manteigaria on Rue Sainte-Catherine are mesmerised by the slow pour of the custard into the pastry shells, only to be awakened by the bell announcing another fragrant batch fresh from the oven. If golden perfection had a scent, it would be the aroma of a Pastel de Nata.

Whether enjoyed on the spot, taken home, or shared later, Manteigaria’s Pastel de Nata has found its place in a city where time—and the art of enjoying it—is cherished.

Simply fantastic! I loved the traditional version. The Pastéis de Nata are exquisite, creamy, and incredibly smooth. The staff are exceptionally pleasant, kind, helpful, welcoming, and friendly. The service is fast, efficient, and impeccable. A dynamic and highly professional team. A wonderful place that I'll definitely remember and highly recommend.

I came across this shop by chance while walking around Paris and went in out of curiosity. Without a doubt, they serve the best Pastéis de Nata I've had in Paris. The staff were incredibly friendly and even offered me a glass of capilé, a drink I'd never tried before. It was so refreshing, especially now that the temperatures are starting to rise.

The best Pastéis de Nata. If you only have time to try these little Portuguese custard delights in one place 💕, this is the place to do it. The shopfront is stunning. There's a small counter if you'd like to eat on the spot, but otherwise I'd recommend getting them to go. Highly recommended.

A charming place with delicious Pastéis de Nata! You can even watch them being made, which makes the experience even more special. The homemade tea was delicious, and the coffee was excellent too. A lovely atmosphere, friendly service, and definitely a place worth visiting!
