Thin, crispy and creamy: for perfect days and other days too.

Portugal’s most traditional delicacy is a masterpiece of elegance. The thin, crispy pastry is the base of a creamy, egg-based filling, with a flavor greater than the sum of its ingredients. The Pastel de Nata is eaten as a snack, for dessert, for breakfast or just because.

They are the ideal size to eat slowly or all at once, usually one or two, sometimes three. It’s perfect with coffee or juice or nothing at all. It’s a unique sweet treat that unites different tastes.

The perfect taste of a Pastel de Nata

A perfect Pastel de Nata tastes like… Pastel de Nata.

Our Pastel de Nata has no secrets, each batch is made in front of you. We use eggs, milk, cinnamon and lemon, flour, butter, margarine and passion.

The creation of our Pastel de Nata is a four-step ritual, an artisanal process that you can watch from this side of the glass:

1

The cream

2

The dough

3

The roll

4

The oven

The velvety cream is mixed with patience and dedication until it reaches the ideal texture to melt in your mouth.

The dough is stretched and rolled by hand, cut to the right size with precision, to make it thin.

Then, it is shaped and filled with the right amount of cream: to the top, but without overflowing.

Finally, it goes into the oven, where everything transforms: the dough becomes crispy, the filling gains a golden surface. Even the air changes, with the warm, irresistible aroma that remains from each batch.

The result is a Pastel de Nata with a dough so thin that it melts in your mouth but capable of holding a filling of velvety consistency.
