A break for a Pastel de Nata at Time Out Market

There’s always room for a Pastel de Nata.

Time Out Market Lisboa brings together some of the city’s best gastronomic experiences in one place. And at the heart of all this vibrant energy is Manteigaria.

If you’re going to have lunch, dinner, a snack, or just a stroll through the Time Out Market, remember that a freshly made Pastel de Nata doesn’t take up that much space.

How to get to the TimeOut Market Manteigaria

What to do at TimeOut Market while eating our Pastel de Nata?

Time Out Market can be a destination, but it’s also a starting point for one of Lisbon’s most eclectic and vibrant areas. After exploring the market’s other gastronomic spaces, grab a Pastel de Nata (or two…or a box) and come on over!

  • Stroll along Cais do Sodré and watch the sunset at Ribeira das Naus.
  • Head to the Elevador da Bica and choose a bar to relax.
  • Take a boat to the other side and admire Lisbon from the Tagus River.
  • Or you can simply stay here, because there’s always another batch coming out of the oven.

I had a wonderful time enjoying the pastéis de nata at this shop. Both the pastéis and the drink were delicious, and the service was polite and quick. I highly recommend a visit if you're at Mercado da Ribeira.

I came to Portugal to try the original Pastel de Nata and found this place in the Timeout Market. I bought a set of 6 and it was well worth it. Puff pastry, creamy texture, sprinkle with a little cinnamon and you're in paradise.

Manteigaria was our first time trying Pastel de Nata — and wow! The kids loved it. A warm, creamy interior with a crispy, flaky crust that melts perfectly with every bite. It's everything you expect from a Pastel de Nata: rich, not too sweet, and straight from the oven. Watching them being made behind the glass makes the experience even more special. A quick stop, but truly memorable.

The best Pastel de Nata I've ever eaten! It was still warm, with a touch of cinnamon... and the custard? Wow, divinely good! I loved it and would come back for more and more!
