Pastel da Nata from Cascais

The classic pastry in a classy town.

In the heart of Cascais, the sea salt and the Atlantic wind mingle with the sweet breeze of freshly baked Pastel de Nata. From the thin, crispy pastry that leaves crumbs in the ancient streets of the town to the perfectly golden crème de la crème, the Pastel de Nata welcomes those arriving from the beach, accompanies those strolling through the historic center, and guides those who came specifically to savor the most classic of sweets in the most classic town in Portugal.

How to get to the Cascais’s Manteigaria

What to see and do near Manteigaria Cascais while enjoying our pastel de nata.

With a classy historic center, aristocratic beaches, and mansions reminiscent of bygone eras, Cascais has plenty to offer, all while enjoying a Pastel de Nata.

  • The village embraces Baía de Cascais, with viewpoints overlooking the harbor, boats and beaches, and a promenade that leads to the marina.
  • In the historic center of Cascais there are statues, gardens, squares, plazas, independent and luxury shops, but it is the picturesque atmosphere of the old streets that gives this town its charm.
  • The beaches of Ribeira, Rainha and Duquesa are stretches of sand perfect for enjoying a Pastel de Nata by the sea.
  • For history buffs, there are two museums not to be missed: the Museu do Mar Rei D. Carlos, dedicated to the maritime history of the region, and the Museu Condes de Castro Guimarães, a romantic mansion with a garden and historical library located in the Marechal Carmona Park. More adventurous visitors can visit the Santa Marta Lighthouse and, a little further afield, the Boca do Inferno.

The best thing in life is having Pastel de Nata at the bend in the bay.

Simply the best pastéis de nata. Don't forget to add a pinch of cinnamon and enjoy! There are no tables available, but you can sit on the bench outside.

I just tried a pastel de nata for the first time, and for me, Christmas has already begun. What a wonderful and delicious experience! Great place to go!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! The best Pastel de Nada I've ever had in Lisbon! The pastry isn't greasy (as is often the case elsewhere) and the cream is delicious! Pure bliss!
