When the experience of an "elder" pastry chef is combined with the creativity and boldness of a young and promising chef, Manteigaria's Pastel de Nata.
Carefully created and perfected, it is today an unavoidable reference in Portuguese pastry, recognized not only by the Portuguese but also by foreigners.

Motherhouse in Chiado
Manteigaria - Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata was founded in 2014 and its mother house is located in Chiado, at Rua do Loreto no. 2.
It was built in a building dating back to 1900, with an Art Nouveau façade.
This place was a historical landmark in the city, the headquarters of "Manteigaria União" which sold butter to the entire capital. Its name can be read on the façade, which has been carefully preserved.
Butter is such a fundamental ingredient in our pastel de nata recipe that, as a tribute, we named our factory “Manteigaria”.
All the bakeries have the same concept: glass between the customer area and the factory, Estremoz marble worktops, Lioz marble and golden glass coverings, a service counter open to the public.
The entire production process is on display with the master pastry chefs at work.
All the service is done with friendliness, in a close and welcoming manner.
Every batch of pastéis de nata is marked with the iconic ringing of the bell.
All the street stores located in iconic areas have been refurbished respecting the legacy and heritage of each location.
